One of the most frequently asked questions ESOs hear from military personnel is, "What education benefits are available to my spouse?" While there are almost no monetary benefits available to spouses of military personnel, many other educational services are available.  The following is a list of those services, programs, and benefits.  Or you can open and download a quick reference matrix of these services, programs, and benefits.

In addition, SOCCOAST has created a list of over 30 schools which provide scholarships, tuition waivers, tuition discounts, and other breaks to spouses of military personnel.

Dependents and the GI Bill

 

In 2008, Congress enacted a new GI Bill (Post-9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Act).  Among its many provisions is one authorizing military personnel to transfer benefits to their dependents, with some conditions.  You can read more about this by clicking here.

 

College Application Process

 

Let’s Get Ready helps high school students through the entire college application process by “enlisting college student volunteers who serve as Coaches in the program providing not only SAT instruction, but the inspiration, enthusiasm and confidence to go to college as well.”
