Commandant's Intent (transcript below) (Audio - click here)
I’m Admiral Thad Allen. I’m honored to be the 23rd Commandant of the
Coast Guard and I look forward to working with each and every one of you
over the next four years. As we transition our senior leadership, I want to
renew and sustain our focus on mission execution. Our missions are the
reason we exist. From the Persian Gulf to responding to hurricanes to global
pandemics to fighting terrorist attacks, we protect our nation and the
American public in the maritime domain. Our work is global in its reach and
we need the finest platforms, the best people and the best support services
to sustain our mission execution. That will be my focus over the next four
years.
