*AY12 Status Update
The e-resume with command endorsement deadline has passed. As stated
from the beginning of the AY12 timeline, I will not be accepting late or
early e-resumes.*
All ESDS members have been issued orders
All inbound/outbound PATFORSWA orders have been issued
GMCM- 100% complete with orders issued
GMCS- 100% complete with
orders issued
GMC- 100% complete with orders issued
GM1-overseas and cutter orders issued
GM2-overseas and cutter orders issued
GM3- 100% slated with orders issued.
All tour
complete member's are strongly encouraged to submit a realistic e-resume IAW
the published timelines that will be outlined during AY12 SITREPs. Early
(prior to 16 September) or late (after COB 7 November) e-resumes will not
be considered
Realistic E-Resume
A
realistic e-resume will have several types of billets (cutter, NESU, armory,
sector, etc), locations, only open billets, no pay grade mismatches and a
minimum of 10 selections. More may be required for a priority 5 since
nearly 3/4 of the GM rating is priority 4 or higher. If you are a sea duty
candidate (see below section) you should list more than 2 cutters. Your
e-resume should list billets that will help you become a well rounded GM
(not all MSST or PSU billets if you have already been stationed at one of
these units). Failure to have a realistic e-resume may led to your next
assignment being one you really didn't want. Be careful of your comments
listed in the members section since they are permanent. Put all important
comments at the top and avoid pasting e-resume builders or listing
information that is already in direct access.
Sea Duty
The Early Sea Duty Solicitation
message was released and the deadline has past. I am working on
the Early slate now. All sea duty candidates should apply for a cutter during this time
to have a larger choice of homeport and or cutters. The only sea service
that counts for sea duty is Coast Guard GM rated sea time. Prior sea
service and other rating (BM, YN, FS, ect) sea time is not factored into
this. (Example: 5 years of credible sea time is listed on your LES, but it
was served as follows; 2 years as a SN, 3 years as a BM. This equals 0 GM
rated sea time). Below are the official AY12 GM rated sea time, if you have
less than these, you are considered a sea duty candidate.
GMC-
less than 4 years
GM1- less than 3.5 years
GM2- less than 2.5 years
GM3- no sea time
Command Endorsements
- You need a command endorsement for the following: PATFORSWA (land/cutter),
extensions, instructor duty (see below), TACLET, Training Teams, Overseas, and independent duty
(see below).
I read all command endorsements and they are highly encouraged even if not
required for a billet.
Overseas Assignment
If you desire an overseas assignment, read Chapter 1.H of
MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS AND AUTHORIZED ABSENCES to make sure you and your dependents are qualified for overseas
assignment. In addition to having a Command Endorsed e-resume, member
needs to :state on their e-resume " I have reviewed
MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS AND AUTHORIZED ABSENCES 1.H. and I nor my dependants have any disqualifying factors"
Instructor Billets
You need to meet the minimum guidelines as outlined in MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS
AND AUTHORIZED ABSENCES 1.E.2 and
1.E.6. These need to be addressed in the command endorsement.
Independent Duty Endorsement Guidance- 110/210, and
270 LPO billets
The endorsement needs to come from your XO at a minimum. The
endorsement needs to cover, leadership potential, rating knowledge, ability
to work independently without much supervision, and a brief synopsis of what
you have done at your current unit that shows these qualities.
