D9 PHOTO COLLAGEThe Ninth Coast Guard District is responsible for all Coast Guard operations throughout the five Great Lakes, the Saint Lawrence Seaway and parts of the surrounding states including 6,700 miles of shoreline and 1,500 miles of the international border with Canada. The 6,000 active duty, reserve, civilian and auxiliary men and women who make up the Ninth District deliver multi-mission services in search and rescue, maritime safety and security, environmental protection, maritime law enforcement, aids to navigation and icebreaking.

(2/2) STA RB-S crew arrived on scene and rescued the PIW who confirmed no other persons were aboard and reported no injuries. #WearIt STA transported the survivor to Dempsey’s Marina. Max potential of fuel was <5 gallons and the responsible party will coordinate salvage.

@USCG (3/3) The child reported their father had gone into the water and was drifting away from the vessel. Sector personnel issued a UMIB, launched #USCG STA St. Clair Shores, prior to STA's arrival, another vessel responded to the UMIB. The father was rescued and reunited. #HaveAPlan
