CDR McClellan Portrait After  ministering 14 years in and around Knoxville, TN and subsequently training at Naval Chaplain School (summer class 2001), newly commissioned LT Rob McClellan began his sea service career by reporting to COMDESRON FOURTEEN (CDS-14), Mayport, FL as Squadron Chaplain to the crews of eight warships in the tactical destroyer squadron focused primarily on UNITAS and counter drug operations in Caribbean and Central American waters.  In Sep 2003 he went from operational to overseas, reporting for duty to Naval Support Activity, Naples Italy as part of the chapel staff, he also focused support to Naval Security, Branch Medical and Naval Communications.  In July 2006, he reported for duty to 2D Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, NC and was assigned to Marine Air Control Group 28. He deployed for all of 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, OIF (06-08) as Group Chaplain (Fwd). During this combat tour, He earned Fleet Marine Force Qualified Officer status and was pinned June 2007. He was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in April 2008. In July 2008, he reported to Marine Corps Air Station, New River, Jacksonville, NC as Command Chaplain where he served as Department Head on Station Staff, Senior Chaplain for the Chapel congregation, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, and the station’s tenant aviation community. In May 2011, he reported to 2D Marine Logistics Group, Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC and was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 6 for Operation Enduring Freedom, ISAF operations (11-2) in direct support of combat operations in RC(SW) Helmand Province, Afghanistan. In May 2012, He reported to 2D Maintenance Battalion serving one of the largest battalions in the Marine Corps providing an array of 2nd through 4th echelon maintenance to II Marine Expeditionary Force equipment. He was promoted to Commander July 2013 and became Regimental Chaplain to Combat Logistics Regiment 2 supporting 2d Marine Division Forces. In March 2014 he reported to Ninth Coast Guard District in Cleveland OH and serves as District Chaplain to USCG staff and personnel throughout the five Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence Seaway.
