LT Thomas E. Przybyla
LT Tom Przybyla was born and raised in Barrington, RI. After graduating from Barrington High School in 2000, he reported to the Coast Guard Academy where he earned a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 2004. His first tour was as a deck watch officer aboard the Coast Guard Cutter WALNUT, a 225 foot buoy tender in Honolulu, HI. His second tour was as executive officer aboard Coast Guard Cutter THUNDER BAY, a 140 foot ice breaking tug in Rockland, ME. LT Przybyla then reported ashore to Coast Guard Headquarters where he was a Command Duty Officer in the Coast Guard's National Command Center.
LTJG Paul R. Junghans
LTJG Paul Junghans hails from Damascus, MD, where he worked as a butcher at Gladhill's Meat Market until he reported to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in July 2007. He graduated in May 2011 with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He was proud to represent the Bears on the football and lacrosse fields during his four years at the Academy.
LTJG Junghans served his first tour of duty aboard the Coast Guard Cutter BLOCK ISLAND, a 110ft Cutter in Atlantic Beach, NC, where he served as Operations Officer, First Lieutenant and Weapons Officer. He reported aboard Coast Guard Cutter BISCAYNE BAY as Executive Officer in July 2013.
