The United States Ninth Coast Guard District Prevention Division protects the public, our ports, the environment and U.S. economic interests through the prevention and mitigation of maritime incidents. The Prevention Division is broken down into four branches, Inspections and Investigations including Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) compliance, and Fishing Vessel Safety, Waterways Management including aids to navigation and domestic ice breaking, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and Bridges.
