For members who are new to the station and are looking to see whats going on around Gulfport, here's a little information that you might find interesting.- Units missions consist of Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement,and Home Land Security
- Typical SA / SN and FA / FN Job Assignment: Watchstander, Boat Crew Member, and Boarding Team Member
- Watch Type and Duty Rotation SA/SN AND FA/FN: Watch type is a 1 in 3. (Every 3 days you stand watch). Duty type for each month consists of a long week, short week, and dayworking.
- Ratings present at the Station: BM, MK, FS, SK (EM's at Aids To Navigation)
- Uniform to Report in: Tropical Blue Long
- Special procedures for reporting after hours: Contact Officer of the Day
- Unit Mutual Assistance Rep: BMC Thigpen
- Uniform normally worn during the workday: ODU's (Oct. 1st through April 1st) Hot Weather Uniforms (April 1st through Oct. 1st)
- Average Temperature: Summer: 90F Winter: 50F
- If sponsor is not available, member should ask for Officer of the Day
- Is Goverment Owned Housing Available: Yes
- Name of nearest military facilities and distance: Kessler Air Force (10 miles) Navy Seabee Base (3 milies)
- Location of nearest commisary and exchange: Same as above
- Where do most members and their dependents live? Local Apartments in the area
- Where do most dependents receive medical care? Keesler Air Force Base or The Navy Seabee Base
- What level of Tricare is available? All
- Is it advisable to bring dependents along when reporting? Yes
- How much personal storage space available? Two personal lockers are are issued to each member
- What
type of continuing education is available in the area? Mississippi Gulf
Coast Community College, William Cary College, Virgina College, and
Blue Cliff College
- Is messing available: Yes
