United States Coast Guard Station Gulfport was commissioned, at its current location, May 22, 2009. The station carries out its missions with two 45 foot Utility Boats, one 29 foot RB-S II boat, and one 24 foot SPC-SW boat. Station Gulfport is host to three other commands, including two 87 foot patrol boats, USCGC RAZORBILL, USCGC POMPANO, and Aids to Navigation Team Gulfport. There are over 35 active duty members attached to the station, at times augmented by over 60 dedicated and enthusiastic Coast Guard Auxiliary members and more than 10 reservists.
The Station averages 100 SAR cases annually. These cases range from minor
disabled vessels to medical emergencies and vessels sinking. Law Enforcement
missions include a wide variety of missions from narcotics interdiction,
fishery enforcement, to inspecting safety gear on board recreational an
