AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Sector Lower Mississippi River is responsible for over 2200 miles of inland waterways in the western rivers.  There are two other Sector commands in the Eighth Coast Guard District Western Rivers; Sector Upper Mississippi River in St. Louis and Sector Ohio Valley in Louisville.  In addition, Sector's Mobile, Houston-Galveston, and New Orleans share borders with Sector Lower Mississippi River.
