The Response Department enforces U.S. laws and regulations, ensures the security of our ports, waterways and maritime critical infrastructure and key assets and promotes boating safety through patrols on land and water. The response Department also participates actively in the America’s Waterway Watch Program and the Southwest Louisiana Mutual Aid Association.They also coordinate with federal, state and local law enforcement partners in the area to implement joint patrol schedules and to conduct joint maritime law enforcement training and multi-agency maritime law enforcement surge operations along the maritime transportation system in Southwest Louisiana. Active partnerships with our law enforcement stakeholders allow for increased visibility throughout our area of responsibility and improve the overall effectiveness of the participating agencies.
