(337) 491-7800 ext. 2MSU Lake Charles Domestic Vessel Inspections Department is responsible for ensuring U.S.commercial vessels comply with applicable statutes, regulations, and standards related to construction, equipment (lifesaving, firefighting, propulsion, navigation, etc.), manning, and operations. This is accomplished through the inspection of small passenger vessels, large oceangoing freight and tank ships, barges, commercial fishing vessels, and offshore supply vessels.
Inspections are scheduled via phone when, where and as needed. All vessel certification and annual inspections are conducted in accordance with the CG-840 appropriate the vessel.
