Commander Davis is a native of Cross, South Carolina. He graduated from the U. S. Coast Guard Academy in May of 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine and Environmental Sciences. His first assignment was to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter DALLAS, a 378-foot cutter, home ported in Charleston, South Carolina as an Engineer Officer in Training. He transferred to the Marine Safety Office Jacksonville, Florida in June 1998. He qualified as a Marine Inspector and fleeted up to assistant Chief of the Inspection Department. After serving three years as a Marine Inspector, he served as Chief of the Response and Waterways management branch. He then transferred to Marine Safety Office Toledo, Ohio where he served as the Chief of the Inspection Department and Senior Investigating Officer from July 2002 until June 2005.

Command Ashore

Following selection to the Coast Guard postgraduate program, he attended Florida State University and earned a Master of Science Degree in Instructional systems. He then served as a Performance Consultant and Chief of the Analysis, Acquisition and Evaluation Branch at the Performance Technology Center located at Training Center Yorktown from August 2006 through June 2010. His military awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, and three Coast Guard Achievement Medals,. He is married to the former Taujuana Prioleau of Cross, South Carolina and they have three children DeAundre, Johnathan, and Lauryn.
