If you have never lived in an area threatened by hurricanes, you need to inform yourself. Hurricane Season is from the 1st of June to the 30th of November. The devastation caused by such storms may be in the form of; wind in excess of seventy-five miles per hour; tornadoes that spin off from hurricanes; excessive flooding from the high tidal surges; injuries from flying debris; electrocutions from fallen wires; or injuries from unstable buildings. If that's not enough, consider other possible storm side effects such a; snakes or other animals being forced into residential areas because of the high waters; children hurt by stepping on nails or playing in unsafe buildings; and environmental damage cause by ruptured gas and chemical lines. As you can see there are a lot of considerations to keep in mind when deciding to evacuate the area or ride out the storm at home.
