The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian volunteer arm of the United States Coast Guard. More than 35,000 men and women donate their time and expertise nationwide to support demanding operations of the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as to improve safety and educational levels for recreational boaters.
Six Auxiliary Flotillas support Coast Guard units in the Sector Miami area of responsibility (AOR) and donate thousands of hours conducting Search & Rescue, Public Education, Marine Environmental Protection, Public Affairs, and Maritime Homeland Security missions. Sector Miami provides administrative support and technical training for CG Auxiliary personnel in search and rescue, safety, harbor patrols, Command Center watchstanding, and armory assistance.
