Welcome! You are soon to become a part of the best 87' in the fleet! I am here to ensure your
relocation goes smoothly and that you are welcomed to the REEF SHARK family. This will be a great opportunity for you to perform some very important jobs such
as Homeland Security, Recreational Boating Safety, Search and Rescue, and Enforcement of Laws and Treaties. If you've never been to Puerto Rico before,
follow this link to the Sector San Juan Website. There you will find helpful information on moving to Puerto Rico.
Look to your welcome aboard message for the name of your sponsor. He/she will guide you through the process of getting here with your family and all your belongings. He/She
is also here to answer any questions you might have. Feel free to call/email them for any reason. If you are not getting a response from your sponsor please email either the
Executive Petty Officer, BM1 Riemer (robert.j.riemer@uscg.mil) or myself, LTJG Ian Mulcahy (ian.j.mulcahy@uscg.mil).
If your report date falls on a day when we are inport, someone from the boat, most likely your sponsor will meet you at the airport, bring you to the base,
show you around, and then let you know when you need to show up on the ship. If we are underway on
your report date, someone from Sector San Juan will meet you at the airport and show you to the barracks. More than likely, since we are not gone for more than a few
days at a time, you will speak to a YN who will get you started with your travel claim and either TLA or Barracks room until we return. Once we return, we will
get you started with Check-Ins.
Again, Welcome Aboard! Let us know what we can do to help.
