Captain Patricia A. McFetridge
US Coast Guard
Captain McFetridge joined the Coast Guard in 1989 and is a career military aviator, qualified in the A, B, and C models of the HH-65 “Dolphin” Short Range Rescue helicopter, and has also flown the 1500, 1600, and 1700 series of the C130 “Hercules” Maritime Patrol Airplane, and the HH-60 “Jayhawk” and HH-3 “Pelican” Medium Range Rescue helicopters. Her previous tour was serving as the Project Manager of Rescue 21, where she was responsible for managing a $1 billion dollar major Information Technology acquisition investment to modernize the National Distress and Response System. Prior to that assignment, she served as the Logistics and Engineering Division Chief for the Deployable Operations Group, where she supported mission execution for the 27 Deployable Specialized Forces in national and international mission areas. Other assignments include serving as the Engineering and Executive Officer at Air Station Borinquen, Puerto Rico; Assistant Engineering Officer at Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina; Engineering Officer at Air Station Los Angeles, California; as well as a flying tour at Air Station Clearwater, Florida (where she began her Aeronautical Engineering training), and her initial Coast Guard flying tour at Air Station Kodiak, Alaska. Prior to joining the Coast Guard, she flew non-combat support missions in the UH-1H “Huey” and OH-58 “Kiowa” helicopters for the Army in South Korea and Fort Hood, Texas, and for the Utah Army National Guard in Salt Lake City.
Captain McFetridge grew up in Northern California. She graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Operations, and became a licensed Private Pilot. She received her Master of Science Degree in Quality Systems Management from the National Graduate School of Quality Management in Falmouth, Massachusetts and earned a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Captain McFetridge is a career military officer, who
lives an unassuming life with her two dogs: Merry, a 3 year old Airedale
Terrier and Camden, a 2 year old Black Lab/Beagle “rescue”.
She is the only daughter of two World War II veterans, and has 4
brothers who have all served in the military.
She has proudly worn her Father’s Naval Aviator wings throughout
her Coast Guard career.
Captain McFetridge’s personal awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal, Coast Guard and Army Commendation Medals, Coast Guard Achievement Medal and other individual, team and unit awards.
