Welcome to Aviation Engineering

Poised at the front door to the Caribbean, Coast Guard Air Station Miami’s Aeronautical Engineering Department provides “safe, mission capable aircraft and aircrews in support of Coast Guard Operations” throughout the dynamic Seventh Coast Guard District’s AOR. With a dedicated team comprised of 10 officers and 174 enlisted aircraft technicians, the department provides comprehensive logistics and maintenance support for 5 HC-144 “Ocean Sentry” aircraft and 5 MH-65D “Dolphin” helicopters. Strategically located at the geographic front door to the Caribbean, the Aviation Engineering Department has been a logistical support hub for transient aircraft deploying throughout the region. Never a dull moment, working at Coast Guard Air Station Miami provides a rewarding job environment which challenges each team member to grow professionally as they make a significant impact on the safety of our community and country. Whether on a rescue mission or while enforcing the boundaries of the United States, the Aviation Engineering Department will rise to the task.
