Ramey Unit School is named in honor of Brigadier General Howard K. Ramey.

General Ramey and his crew lost their lives on March 26, 1943 during a reconnaissance mission in the Pacific theatre of operations.

The Ramey School occupies twenty-seven lush, tropical acres located in the heart of the former Ramey Air Force Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.  This acreage allows for a spacious campus, three playgrounds, and several athletic fields. The school consists of 19 buildings with a total of 51 classrooms. The school has an enclosed gymnasium, a large information center, a video/audio production lab, two READ 180 labs, two math labs, a STEM lab, and three computer labs. There is also a theater and a science building with classrooms equipped for Chemistry, Biology, Marine Biology, and Physics.  Ramey's approximately 450 students are dependents of active duty military members and civilian federal employees serving at USCG Air Station Borinquen and other federal agencies.

Today, Ramey School prides itself on our standards-driven curriculum and a 21st Century education, our experienced and dedicated teachers, and the unity within our diverse student body. Ramey holds the distinction of being the only pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade unit school in DDESS.  We are small, yet we strive for excellence, good character, citizenship, and integrity.  Ramey School offers a world-class education for all students.

Classes include the full range of the DoDEA curriculum including a full complement of special offerings such as Art, Music, Physical Education, AVID, Gifted & Talented, Special Education, and English as a Second Language.

Ramey recently received national recognition for its growth in Advanced Placement classes and high performance on AP exams.  Additionally, Ramey is accredited by AdvancED, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of PreK-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential.
