DUTY ROTATION

Station Indian River has a one boat B-0 SAR response requirement, and must have sufficient qualified personnel on board at all times to man the ready boat. During the summer months Station Indian River is required to man Station (sm) Roosevelt Inlet.  This requirement is met by assigning certified personnel to a duty section with primary responsibility as ready boat crew during their period of duty.  Additional qualified personnel will be assigned to the duty section to man the communications watch; unqualified personnel may be assigned to a duty section for training purposes.

The Station will maintain the maximum number of duty sections commensurate with the number of qualified personnel to man them. Due to schools, leave, TAD, and transfers the Station has historically been limited to two duty sections with "Port and Starboard" duty periods. Under normal circumstances, three duty sections will be authorized. The following depicts the typical duty schedule. (D = Duty, O = Off, DW = Day work). "Port and Starboard" is the primary duty rotation for Station Indian River during the summer months.
