STATION ELIZABETH CITY

Coast Guard Station Elizabeth City formally known as Station Coinjock, was relocated to the Elizabeth City Complex as part of the Commandant Streamlining Initiative in May 1996. C.G. Station Elizabeth City has an exceptional large Area of Responsibility.  This includes 10 rivers; Alligator, Chowan, Little River, North, North Landing, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Roanoke, Scuppernong and the Yeopim; 3 sounds: Albemarle, Currituck, and part of the Roanoke. Areas heavily traveled by interstate commerce include the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Dismal Swamp Canal. It also covers from the North Carolina, Virginia border south to Belhaven. Our AOR goes into 12 counties and covers over 1,700 square miles.
