Captain Todd Wiemers
currently serves as Deputy Commander Sector Delaware Bay.
Sector Delaware Bay is the command element for Coast Guard response,
prevention and logistical efforts in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
Previous tours of duty
include financial management, afloat and shore operations.
Operationally, he served as Operations Officer aboard USCGC COWSLIP;
Commanding Officer of USCGC POINT HURON, Surface Operations Officer at
Group/Air-Station Corpus Christi, and Sector Response at Sector Honolulu
where he oversaw Coast Guard search and rescue, law enforcement, homeland
security, and pollution response efforts throughout the Hawaiian islands.
Captain Wiemers’ staff
tours include serving as the Exchange Officer in the Ninth Coast Guard
District, and two tours at Coast Guard Headquarters.
In the Office of Budget and Programs, he built the Coast Guard’s
fiscal year 2005 budget, and in the Office of Boat Forces he was the program
manager for all boat platforms throughout the Coast Guard.
A native of Naperville,
IL, he graduated with honors from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1990 with
a Bachelors of Science degree in Management, and earned a Masters of
Business Administration from the College of William and Mary.
Captain Wiemers’
personal awards include two CG Meritorious Service Medals, three CG
Commendation Medals, the DOT 9-11 Medal, and CG Achievement Medal.
