IMD Duties

The Incident Management Division serves as the Sector's Station Supervisor/Small Boat Manager providing program oversight/advocacy for six multi-mission small boat stations and seven station smalls that have 35 small boats.  Divisional personnel respond to any maritime channel and four deepwater ports.  Members of the Marine Environmental Response (MER) serve as the Pollution Responders (PR) and as Federal On-Scene Coordinator Representative (FOSCR) providing oversight of oil and hazmat pollution response coverage over two EPA Regions and three States. On a daily basis the division works closely with the environmental offices of three states protecting the second largest petro-chemical port in the United States with 6 major refineries and five nuclear plants.
