
Reserve Command Master Chief
U.S. Coast Guard Fifth District
Master Chief William J. Princiotta assumed duties as Reserve Command
Master Chief, District 5 on 01 June 2012. His primary responsibility is
to advise Rear Admiral Steven H. Ratti, the Commander of the Fifth Coast
Guard District, on issues and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard
members and their families within the district. The Fifth District
includes six states, the District of Columbia and encompasses 156,000
square miles of ocean, bays, rivers, wetlands, and tidal marshes within
the United States Mid-Atlantic Region. Most recently, Master Chief
Princiotta served as Senior Enlisted Reserve Advisor for USCG Station
Atlantic City, NJ.
A native of Pequannock Township NJ and now residing in Lumberton NJ; Master Chief Princiotta entered the U. S. Coast Guard Reserves in 1983. Master Chief Princiotta’s prior assignments, both Active and Reserve, include USCG Station Beach Haven NJ, Port Security Unit 303 Dammam Saudi Arabia Operation Desert Shield / Storm, USCG Station Barnegat Light NJ, Sector Field Office Atlantic City NJ, MSU Wilmington NC in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and Station Philadelphia PA. Master Chief Princiotta is a plank owner with Atlantic Area Maritime Law Enforcement Training Team East where he was a Senior MLE Instructor. Master Chief Princiotta was deployed to New Orleans for Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill and has served with Civil Engineering Unit Cleveland, OH.
Master Chief Princiotta is a proud graduate of the Coast Guard Reserve Chief Petty Officers Academy class 19, U.S. Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer's Academy, U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, U.S. Coast Guard OIC/XPOs and has completed numerous service related schools. Master Chief Princiotta holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Law from Rogers Williams University and an Associate’s Degree from Widener University.
In civilian life, Master Chief Princiotta is currently a Patrol Sergeant for the Westampton Township Police Department, NJ. In addition, he is the department’s Administrative Sergeant responsible for rewriting the department’s Policy and Procedures manual and is the Domestic Violence Liaison Officer.
Master Chief Princiotta’s personal awards include; Three Commandant’s Letter of Commendation with “O” device, Eight Reserve Good Conduct Medals, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, CG Special Operations Service Ribbons, Two National Defense Service Medals, Air Force Senior NCO ribbon as well as numerous service and unit awards. He holds a Port Security and Coxswain’s insignias.
