Lieutenant Russell Zuckerman reports to JAMES RANKIN
(WLM-555) after serving for two years as the Executive Assistant and Aide to
Commander, Force Readiness Command at Alameda, California.
After receiving his commission from Officer Candidate School in 2003, he was
assigned to USCGC WALNUT (WLB-205) while she was deployed in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom. He subsequently served as Operations Officer
onboard USCGC ELM (WLB-204) maintaining Aids to Navigation throughout the
Fifth Coast Guard District, as well as supporting Seventh District
operations, including Migrant Interdiction and Counter Narcotics. Lieutenant
Zuckerman has also served as part of the Pacific Area Prevention Staff.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Lieutenant Zuckerman is a graduate of
Loyola Marymount University where he earned a Bachelor's of Arts in English
Literature and studied Business and Ethics abroad in Bonn, Germany and
Beijing, China.
Lieutenant Zuckerman is married to the former Brook Naughton of Warner
Robins, Georgia. Together they have two precocious children, Isobel (5) and
Jarrett (4). Lieutenant Zuckerman is an avid fitness enthusiast who enjoys
CrossFit and Olympic lifting.
