The Independent duty Food Service Officer is responsible for all food procurement, delivery, preparation, handling all receipts and all corresponding financial paperwork. Other collateral duties may include Boarding team member, Boarding Officer, unit CDAR, EMT, and Master-At-Arms.

 Deck dept is responsible for the up keep of the ships mooring lines, main deck repairs, painting, preventive maintenance of the ships hull and skin.

The Independent Duty Gunner's Mate is responsible for all weapons and ammunitions maintenance and trainings.  Belonging to the deck department, he is also a medium level supervisor along with the BM2 billet.
