Lieutenant Junior Grade George Matthew Borger is reporting from Coast Guard Cutter DILIGENCE (WMEC 616), homeport Wilmington, NC, where he served as the Assistant Navigator, Public Affairs Officer, Supply Officer, and later as the First Lieutenant and Deck Department Head. There he patrolled the Caribbean on missions of drug interdiction, alien migrant interdiction, search and rescue, and hurricane relief.

LTJG Borger graduated with High Honors from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. There he played lacrosse and served as the team captain.

LTJG Borger is a 4^th generation Washingtonian.
