Welcome to Fifth Coast Guard District Prevention (dp). Our goal is to provide the best program oversight and customer support possible throughout the district's area of responsibility. Our mission is to administer Prevention programs and activities to protect the public, our ports and waterways, the environment, and support regional and national economic interests through prevention and mitigation of maritime incidents. Prevention activities directly support all of the Coast Guard five mission areas: Maritime Safety, Maritime Security, Maritime Mobility, National Defense, and Protection of Natural Resources. |
