opportunity for you and your family. A tropical island in the western pacific, Guam is part of the Marianas Island chain located in Micronesia 3,957 miles west (and 20 hours ahead) of Hawaii. Guam offers a wide range of outdoor activities, great local culture, and adventurous travel opportunities. The local DODEA school system is one of the best in the world and Coast Guard members can benefit from all the community services offered by both Naval Base Guam (NBG) and Andersen AFB.

Sector Guam’s search and rescue area of responsibility encompasses the Marianas and the Caroline Islands, which includes Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia (Kosrae, Pohnper, Chuuk, and Yap). Other primary missions include: law enforcement, ports waterways and coastal security (PWCS), marine inspection, mariner's licensing and documentation, port safety and marine environmental protection.
