Command Master Chief David G. Kolstedt

 

Sector Guam Command Master ChiefMaster Chief Kolstedt assumed the duties of Sector Guam Command Master Chief in June 2009. 

Master Chief Kolstedt enlisted in the Coast Guard in May 1993. Upon completion of basic training, he reported to his first assignment onboard USCGC VENTUROUS (WMEC-625) in Astoria, Oregon. His follow-on assignments include USCGC STEADFAST (WMEC-623), USCGC NUNIVAK (WPB-1306), Group/MSO Los Angeles Long Beach, USCGC MAUI (WPB-1304), Group Woods Hole, Headquarters Command Center, and Sector New York. His last assignment was the U. S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

In addition to being a graduate of Class 59 of the U. S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Master Chief Kolstedt is also a graduate of Chief Petty Officer Academy Class CXX. Master Chief Kolstedt holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland-UC.

Master Chief Kolstedt’s personal awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal with Operational Distinguishing Device, Coast Guard Achievement Medal with three gold stars and Operational Distinguishing Device, and the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation.
