The Coast Guard District Fourteen
(CGD14) Telecommunications Division (dt) provides rapid, reliable, and
secure communications capabilities for the Commander, Fourteenth Coast Guard
District to exercise command and control of forces deployed within his area
of responsibility.
The primary goals of the CGD14 communications system (COMMSYS) is to
provide:
- communications facilities that support all missions assigned to the District with a minimum of duplication of systems, equipment and personnel.
- communications assistance to various DOD activities along with other Federal, State and Local agencies.
- compatible means by which other U.S. Government activities, foreign government agencies, international maritime and aeronautical commerce, and the boating public may communicate with CGD14 units.
- Provide communications support services for Commander Coast Guard Pacific Area (COMPACAREA) deployed forces, as required by ANNEX KILO to COMPACAREA SOP 1-(YR).
