Command Master Chief Biography

Master Chief Jeffrey Jackson

Master Chief Jackson Joined the U. S. Coast Guard in 1988. After boot camp, he was assigned to the Cutter Jarvis (WHEC 725) in Hawaii as a Fireman and did multiple Alaska patrols including the cleanup effort of the “Exxon Valdez”. In 1990 Fireman Jackson went to Aviation Structural Mechanic “AM” school and then was assigned to Air Station Miami. He quickly became qualified in the HH65 Helicopter as a Flight Mechanic and also qualified as an air crewman on the Casa 212. He survived several hurricanes including Andrew and helped with the aftermath. AM2 Jackson deployed over 15 times to cutters and Guantanamo bay (Gitmo) Cuba to aid in operations “Able Manner” and “Frontier Lance” due to the migrant exodus. In 1993 he was assigned to Air Station Astoria.  Now AM2 Jackson helped stand up the Advanced Helicopter Rescue School “AHRS”.   After transitioning to the HH60 Jayhawk, AM2 Jackson was involved in saving multiple lives during the Astoria/Tillamook floods.  After a rate merger and a transfer back to Miami, now AMT1 Jackson transition back into the HH65 helicopter. He took over as the Enlisted Flight Examination Board Chairman to ensure personnel were being trained properly. He was also qualified as a plane Captain and deployed another 14 times. Now Chief Jackson and another transfer to Barbers Point Hawaii where he headed up the transition to the HH65B model helicopter and ran the helicopter shop. In 2007, Chief Jackson was sent back to Miami for a third time and made Senior Chief and was short toured and sent to Air Station San Francisco as the Leading Chief. Senior Chief Jackson managed over 100 enlisted personnel and ensured the aircraft were safe to fly. In 2011 he moved across the hall and assumed the position of Command Senior Chief. He worked closely with the command and ensured people were being taken care of. In 2013 and now Master Chief Jackson was transferred Back to Air Station Barber Point as the Command Master Chief.

 Master Chief Jacksons accomplishments and awards: Honor Graduate of both Boot Camp and “AM” A school. Perchard Award winner, Enlisted person of the quarter 1999, Navy League Senior Enlisted member of the Year 2011, Commendation medal, 3 achievement medals, 2 outstanding Volunteer service medals.

Master Chief Jackson has over 3000 hours in 3 aircraft.

Master Chief Jackson comes to Air Station Barbers Point after serving as the Command Senior Chief at Air Station San Francisco.
