Station Neah Bay enjoys an excellent relationship with the Makah Tribe and their enforcement officers. We continue to complete voluntary dockside examinations of most Tribal commercial fishing vessels. We also work closely with their Tribal environmental response personnel in response to minor oil spills in the bay. We are an active member of the local Disaster Preparedness Committee, providing input and advice as needed. Commanding Officer is a member of the Vocational Advisory Board at the local high school and promotes CG careers in the community.
Station Neah Bay closely cooperates with all local and federal agencies. The National Marine Fisheries Service maintains operating facilities at Station Neah Bay and coordinates with this unit in conducting law enforcement operations. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration maintains operating facilities at this unit in support of the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary. We provide mooring facilities for NMFS, NOAA, and the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.
