Port Angeles:


  • YMCA – The unit provides annual members to the local YMCA and the Y has graciously extended the service to dependents.  This membership is available for all members and commands in the AOR.    Playcare is available for minimal hourly fee.  Various toddlers to teen programs including art classes, creative movement, sports, and after school activities are also available and members are responsible for the costs of these programs. Live Yer’s available Tues/Fri 10:30-noon for young kids and parents.  www.ccfymca.org


  • Port Angeles Parks and Recreation – Various summer camps, sports programs, parks, and family activities can be found via this PA Park and Rec. website and quarterly free newsletter.  www.cityofpa.us  See below for just a few.


  • Vern Burton Community Center- Pre-K playzone on Mon/Wed. 10-11:30am.  $1 per child.  After school program, cheerleading, and family events.


  • William Shore Memorial Pool- The unit provides free access to members and their dependents at the William Shore Memorial Pool. In addition to recreational swimming, Swim lessons for all ages and exercise classes are available for a small fee.

  • Port Angeles Parks- There are over 28 various parks in the Port Angeles area.  One of the largest for kids is “Dream” Playground on Race Street, just south of First.


  • Peninsula Pre-3 Cooperative- prethree@yahoo.com. A non-profit program for parents and children age 10 months-3.5 years.  Meets from Sept-May to include circle/song activities, art, sensory, and gross motor play. Classes are offered for various age groups.
