Captain Michael T. Trimpert
Captain Trimpert is a 1992 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy.
Captain Trimpert’s operational assignments include his initial tour of duty aboard USCGC COURAGEOUS and post-flight training tours at Coast Guard air stations in Astoria, Oregon; Kodiak, Alaska; San Francisco, California; and Los Angeles, California, where he served as the Commanding Officer. A career helicopter pilot of 20 years, Captain Trimpert has served as an Instructor Pilot and Flight Examiner in both the H65 and H60 aircraft.
Between operational assignments, Captain Trimpert has been posted to the Personnel Service Center, the Coast Guard 17th District, where he served as the Chief of Incident Management for maritime operations in Alaska and the U. S. Arctic, and most recently to the U. S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany where he was responsible for coordinating Department of Defense support to US Interagency and partner nation efforts against illicit trafficking and transnational organized crime.
Captain Trimpert’s professional education includes a Masters of Business Administration and senior executive seminars at the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies and the George C. Marshall Center. In 2011-2012, Captain Trimpert served as the Coast Guard’s National Security Fellow at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California.
Captain Trimpert’s military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals, the Air Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal and various other personal and unit citations. He is also the recipient of career service awards from the Daughters of the American Revolution, the U. S. Federal Executive Board, and Aviation Week, Inc.
