Certification ^top
REYR indicates that you did
not complete your Currency Maintenance, Underway Hours, or
Checks (i.e., Vessel Exams), depending on the Competency
Certified for the previous or previous years. REWK indicates
that you did not complete the appropriate Workshop (if
required for that year) or TCT.
To become re-certified, first check the AUXMAN. For Crewmember
or Coxswain, additional requirements are found on the back side
of the current year Currency Maintenance Form. The first thing
you should do is complete 8 hours underway as a "TRAINEE." This
information must be entered in AUXDATA as "TRAINEE." Otherwise
you will not receive credit for it. Once that is done, an Email
(or land line) must be sent to DIRAUX (preferably Charles Claytor)
and notify us that this REYR task has been completed and entered
in AUXDATA. DIRAUX will verify that the "TRAINEE" hours have
been entered in AUXDATA. DIRAUX will then re-set your competency
to "CERTIFIED." This will allow you to complete the remaining
REYR tasks and complete your yearly Currency Maintenance to
include 8 hours underway as "LEAD" or "NON-LEAD" depending on
your competency.
If you are in REWK, you only need to complete the task you are
deficient in and notify DIRAUX that the task has been completed
and entered in AUXDATA. DIRAUX will re-certify you at that time
without additional requirements.
If you are REYR in competencies like Vessel Examiner or
Instructor, you need to complete the required vessel exams
or instructor hours as "TRAINEE" and have them entered into
AUXDATA. Once that is done, notify DIRAUX that the REYR
tasks have been completed and entered in AUXDATA. Your
competency will then be re-certified. This will allow you to
complete your yearly required currency maintenance vessel
exams or instructor hours for your competency.
Currency maintenance and Activity Reports should be entered
by your SO or FSO-IS. DIRAUX enters only 5th Year
certification for Crewmember and Coxswain. On occasion and
depending on the situation, DIRAUX may enter your Currency
Maintenance or Activity Report. However, the correct
procedure is to use your IS officers for these tasks.

ID card photos can be e-mailed to DIRAUX as long as the supporting ID card form is faxed to (206) 220-7084 on the same day. Please make sure the pictures are in J-PEG format with a red background. Make sure each photo is identified by name or EMPLID and flotilla number. The member photo needs to be in uniform, (light blue shirt), with no hat. All information on the ID card forms must be filled out. If you choose to e-mail the photos to DIRAUX they can be sent to: d13-pf-dirauxid@uscg.mil It is a regulation that all Auxiliarists have an ID made.
Travel ^top
You can now look up your travel claim status and payment breakdowns at http://www.uscg.mil/hq/psc/tvl.htm. Remember it takes two to three weeks for payment from the time the claim leaves DIRAUX.
The completed travel claim should be sent to the DIRAUX office no later than 3 days after the travel is finished.
The tasks for currency maintenance are outlined on the District Thirteen Boat Crew (BC) Currency Maintenance for 2006 Form.

They are for Coxswain:

COX-08-05 AUX - Take a vessel in stern tow.
COX-08-07 AUX - Take a boat in alongside tow.
BCM-06-06/10 AUX - Plot a single unit sector search pattern (VS) and execute a search pattern.
These
tasks are required annually and are to be signed off by the
qualified Coxswain. Every fifth year they are to be
witnessed and signed off by a QE.
Leadership courses taken now include AUXLAM (weekend format) or LAMS (weeklong Active Duty class). Neither is AUXLEA. AUXLEA is no longer available.
Completion of AUXLAM or LAMS is noted as a training task (not a certification) in AUXDATA. When searching for it, remember the training reports default to the 1st day of the current year and therefore classes taken in previous years will not show up unless the start date on the report is changed.
