State Congressional Staffers visit the U.S. Coast Guard Base in Seattle, WA.
Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett, Capt. John A Schott, welcomes congressional staff and U.S. Navy League members, as well as invited guests to the 378-foot cutter.
A crowd gathers on the flight deck to hear the commanding officer. The USCGC Midgett is one of two 378-foot cutters based in Seattle. The other is the USCGC Mellon.

Local boating safety information can be obtained from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary or by contacting Mr. Don Knesebeck, 13th Coast Guard District Boating Safety Specialist.
More boating safety exhibits, including personal floatation devices and dry suits worn by Coast Guard boarding team members.
