Congressional Staff Visit to Coast Guard

United States and Washington State Congressional Staffers visit the U.S. Coast Guard Base in Seattle, WA.

13th Coast Guard District Chief of Staff, Capt. Philip M. Sanders, and Chief of the Information Division, Cmdr. Bill Edgar, give an introductory brief to U.S. and Washington State congressional staff members.

Master Chief Bill Sheretz, Officer-in-Charge of USCGC Osprey, gives a tour and points out the special features of the state-of-the-art 87-foot patrol boat.

Congressional staff members learn about Coast Guard Station Seattle and small boat operations from STA Seattle Officer-in-Charge, Chief Boatswain Mate Darrell Marks.  The small boats in the picture are the 27-foot Utility Boat and the 41-foot Utility Boat.

Congressional staff members depart the docks at the Coast Guard Base in Seattle flanked by the USCGC Osprey and USCG Station Seattle small boats.

Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Marine Safety Office Puget Sound, Capt. Michael Moore, briefs congressional staff members.  Following the MSO brief, staff members toured the Vessel Traffic Service.
