The USCGC SWORDFISH is an 87 foot patrol boat. The cutter officially entered the Coast Guard fleet during a commissioning ceremony held at Coast Guard GROUP/AIRSTA Port Angeles, the ship's home port, on July 22nd 2005. The most unique feature of the cutter's design is the rigid-inflatable boat launch and recover system. This feature significantly improves the safety during launch and recovery.

Cutter SWORDFISH performs a wide variety of missions to include Search and Rescue, Maritime Law Enforcement, and Navy Unit escorts.
