Welcome aboard to USCGC HALIBUT (WPB 87340)!

HALIBUT is an 87' patrol boat homeported in sunny Marina Del Rey, California. Our primary missions are Search and Rescue, Maritime Law Enforcement, and Homeland Security.

Reporting Procedures

You should have been sent a Welcome Aboard Message with the name and contact information of you sponsor. If you have not already done so, you are encouraged to contact you sponsor as soon as possible. Your sponsor will be able to answer any questions you have about the cutter, area, reporting date/time, etc.

Schedule

HALIBUT is underway 2,000 hours a year; inport, time is primarily spent on maintenance and training. HALIBUT follows tropical hours inport (0700 – 1300). Family members can keep up-to-date with what is happening by subscribing to the HALIBUT BREAKWALL newsletter. To be added to the distribution list, Contact the Base.

Uniform

New crewmembers should report in tropical blue long. The normal inport and underway uniform is Operational Dress Uniform (ODU) with unit ball cap.

ICS Training

All new crewmembers are required to complete ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 online courses prior to reporting aboard. ICS onlinetraining can be found by clicking the links below.

Housing

Non-rates reporting aboard are required to live onboard until inport qualified. Once inport qualified, non-rates are able to live in government leased apartments.

Petty Officers are entitled to Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). You can check your BAH rate. If BAH is not desired, members can contact the Housing Officer at 310-732-7560, to be put on the military housing list.

House Hold Goods (HHG)

To schedule the delivery of your HHGs, contact BSU San Pedro's Transportation Property Shipping Office by calling either the Property Officer at 310-732-7480, or the Transportation Specialist at 310-732-7481.
