Tours of Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles are free of charge and available through the Public Affairs Officer at 310-417-9612. Our tours are typically between one and two hours long and can be tailored to the audience.
A typical tour consists of a video presentation and an overlook at some of the equipment used by our helicopter crews. Of course a tour of the aircraft and a look at our hanger space is always included.
Tours are scheduled around Air Station Los Angeles’ busy operational requirements and are typically conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM.
Your tour guides will be actual Coast Guard pilots, flight mechanics and rescue swimmers. Tours for civic organizations and school groups are welcome. Contact the Public Affairs Officer for more information!
Before You Arrive…
1. Ensure sufficient chaperones are brought for children or school groups. Expect only 1-2 tour guides who may need your assistance with large groups (over 20).
2. Try to keep tour sizes small. Tour groups of less than 30 people in size tend to enjoy the experience more. Several tours can be scheduled at different times to accommodate large groups. Air Station Los Angeles wants to make the tour memorable so contact the Public Affairs Officer to allow for the best possible look at Coast Guard Aviation.
