Unit Command Cadre

The Command Cadre of Station Boothbay Harbor consists of a BMC Officer in Charge, a BM1 Executive Petty Officer and an MK1 Engineering Petty Officer.  Additionally a BM1 acts as Operations and 1st Lieutenant to assist the Command with day-to-day operations.

Chief Boatswain's Mate Kris Demetros is a native of Waterford, NY, and enlisted in the Coast Guard in September 1995. Upon completion of recruit training his first assignment was the Coast Guard Cutter NEAH BAY, home ported in Cleveland, OH. While there he struck and advanced to Boatswain's Mate Third Class. In June 1997 BMC Demetros reported to MSO Portland, ME, where he served as a Boarding Officer, Pollution Investigator, Life Raft Inspector, and Un-inspected Towing Vessel Examiner. After advancing to BM2 in 2000 he transferred to CG Station Brant Point, Nantucket, MA. While at Station Brant Point BMC Demetros was certified as coxswain on the 47ft MLB, 44ft MLB, and 41ft UTL, as well as being the Station's Deck Department head and Operations Petty Officer. Upon his advancement to BM1 in July 2003, BMC Demetros received orders to CG Station Portland, OR, where he served as the Executive Petty Officer. During his time there, the station was awarded the coveted Sumner I. Kimball readiness award. In the spring of 2005, he was certified as Officer in Charge for Multi-Mission Ashore. In June 2005, BMC Demetros reported to the USCGC WILLIAM TATE, home ported in Philadelphia, PA, where he served as the First LT and Operations Petty Officer. He was then transferred to Station Chincoteague, VA in April 2008. At Station Chincoteague, BMC Demetros served as the Executive Petty Officer and advanced to Chief Boatswain's Mate on June 1, 2009. BMC Demetros' personal awards include one Coast Guard Commendation Medal, four Coast Guard Achievement Medals with the Operational "O" device and four Coast Guard Good Conduct awards.

Jim Zerinskas

BM1 Zerinskas

BM1 Jim Zerinskas arrived at Station Boothbay Harbor in June 2010 and assumed the duties of the Executive Petty Officer in February of 2012. He is a native of Chicago, IL and joined the US Coast Guard in September of 1998. Upon graduation from Recruit Training, he reported to CGC Acushnet in Ketchikan, AK. He then served at CG Station Calumet Harbor in the Reserve component where he advanced to Boatswain’s Mate Third Class and returned to active duty in March 2003. Prior to his current assignment, he was the First Lieutenant /Operations Petty Officer on board CGC Sturgeon located in Grand Isle, LA. BM1 Zerinskas has qualified as a coxswain on the following platforms: 47MLB, 41UTB, 25’RB-S, 25’UTL, 17’ CBM, and tactical coxswain on the 41’ UTB and 25’ RBS. He is also qualified as a Deck Watch Officer (87’ WPB), Boarding Officer, and small boat Engineer on the 41’ UTB. BM1 Zerinskas personal awards include two Coast Guard Achievement medals with operational devices, two letters of Commendation with operational devices, and three Good Conduct Medals.

Scott Dupre

MK1 Dupre, EPO

Machinery Technician First Class Scott Dupre assumed the duties of the Engineering Petty Officer (EPO) for Station Boothbay Harbor in October 2010.  MK1 is a native of Northbridge, MA and enlisted in the Coast Guard in April 2003. Upon completion of recruit training his first assignment was CG Station Boothbay Harbor. As a Fireman he qualified as a Boat Crewmember on the 47’ MLB, 21’ UTL, 22’ AMBAR, 25’ RB-HS, and 25’ RB-S, he qualified as an engineer on the 47’ MLB, a Boarding Team Member and an Emergency Medical Technician. MK1 Dupre went to MK “A” School in July 2005. Upon advancement to MK3 he reported to Station Castle Hill in Newport, RI. While at Station Castle Hill, MK1 Dupre was qualified as a Crewmember on the 41’ UTB and 25’RB-S. MK1 was also an engineer on the 41’ UTB, a Boarding Officer and Officer of the Day (OOD).  He advanced to MK2 in August 2007. In December 2007 MK1 Dupre was offered an early transfer to the CGC TYBEE (WPB-1330). MK1 Dupre reported to the CGC TYBEE in December 2007, where he quickly qualified as an EOW, 18’CB-M Crewmember, Boarding Officer and Small Boat Crane Operator. He advanced to MK1 in June 2010. Again MK1 was offered an early transfer to take a critical fill position at Station Boothbay Harbor as the EPO. MK1 Dupre reported to STA Boothbay Harbor in October 2010. MK1 Dupre’s personal awards include a Coast Guard Commendation Metal, a Coast Guard Achievement Medal, and two Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals.

Jesse Ellison

BM1 Ellison

BM1 is a native of Ocean City, NJ and enlisted in the Coast Guard in November 2004. Upon completion of recruit training BM1 Ellison attended BM "A" School and graduated as a BM3 in October 2005. His frist assignment was the CGC Jefferson Island. As a BM3 he qualified as a Boat Crewmember, Coxswain, Boarding Team Member, and Officer of the Day (OOD). In 2007 he reported to Station Atlantic City in NJ. While at Station Atlantic City, BM1 Ellison was qualified as a Crewmember on the 47’MLB, 25’RB-S, and 24' SPCSW. BM1 was also a Coxswain and Heavy Weather Coxswain, a Boarding Officer (BO), and an OOD.  He advanced to BM2 in April 2008. BM1 Ellison reported to Station Boothbay Harbor in 2011, where he quickly qualified as a Crewmember, Coxswain, Heavy Weather Coxswain, BO and station OOD. He fleeted up to the Operations/1st Lieutenant position in July 2013 and advanced to BM1 in September 2013. BM1 Ellison’s personal awards include a Coast Guard Achievement Medal and two Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals.
