Prior to entering into a rental or lease agreement make sure you include a military clause. Contrary to popular belief, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act does NOT help you break a lease in all circumstances that you may encounter during your military service. You are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to have a provision in your rental agreement to release you from your obligations.

* * * IMPORTANT NEWS - RENTAL TIP * * *
Many houses on the market today "FOR SALE" may be for rent, although not advertised as such. As a military member reporting to the area, many owners / realtors are very receptive to negotiating a lease and or rental agreement. This trend is relatively new and as a prospective tenant, you may have to initiate this negotiation with the owner and or realtor. Explaining to the owner / realtor that you are in the area for a full tour 3-4 years, can be a very attractive offer for negotiating a lease and or rental agreement.
