The Coast Guard Police Department at Sector New York provides a 24/7 Law Enforcement and Emergency response for all properties under the control of Commander, Sector New York. The CGPDs mission is to maintain the safety of security of Sector New York, its personnel, and their families. The CGPD is a proactive force, maintaining 24/7 police patrols enforcing Federal Law, NY State Traffic Law, UCMJ, as well as Commandant and local policies. The CGPD relies heavily on information from the community. Please feel free to call with any questions, complaints, and/ or information.

Traffic Law:

As a federal installation Sector New York assimilates NY State Vehicle and Traffic Law. The speed limit on all Sector NY property is 15 MPH. Operation of electronic devices is prohibited while operating motor vehicles. Violations can result in a summons being issues, administrative actions, and/ or suspension of driving privileges.

Parking:

All vehicles parked on Sector NY property must be properly registered and insured. Vehicles are to park in designated parking areas only. Violators are subject to immobilization, impound, or tow at the owners expense.

Firearms:
Firearms are allowed to be stored in CG Family Housing provided the member presents a valid permit issued by the NYPD. All firearms in housing shall be registered with the CGPD. The CGPD is also able to store Privately Owned Firearms for military members. The owner is responsible for knowing and following all Federal, State, and Local laws.
