Base South Portland is found off of High Street in South Portland. It is approximately 15-20 minute taxi ride from the Portland Jet Port or bus station. Public bus service is not available.

Few parking spaces on the South Portland base are reserved. Those that are have signs, which clearly mark the owner's billet.
The ID Card and Vehicle Decal Office is located at the Downtown Portland Office at 27 Pearl Street, Portland Maine. Hours are Tuesday - Thursday 8:00 to 11:00 AM and 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

Active Duty must have their current ID Card.
Dependents and dependents of Retirees must have a DD-1172 signed by the sponsor or
sponsor must be present at the time the card is being issued. If your a newlywed, have a newborn child, have adopted a child or have a dependent over 21 and under the age of 23 in college, you will need to provide proper documentation.
Documentation: A marriage certificate, birth certificate, adoption papers or a letter from the school stating the student is in school full time including anticipated date of graduation.
The Vehicle Decal hours are the same as the ID Card Office hours. Information required to receive a Vehicle Decal: Current Registration, Current Proof of Insurance, and Current Drivers License.
Galley Hours/Menu Information:
Group Portland's galley serves three meals daily. Meal hours are: Weekday hours: breakfast: 0630-0745, lunch: 1115-1215, dinner: 1630-1715. Weekend hours: breakfast 0700-0800, lunch and dinner are the same as during the week. Specific questions can be answered by dialing (207) 767-0379.
Located approximately seven miles from the base, the exchange offers a wide variety of items including Coast Guard uniforms. Call 842-9197 for times of operations and detailed information.
The "Rusty Scupper" is an all hands club. It is used for large training sessions and social gatherings. It is a full-service club with a full bar and catering options. Authorized patrons can rent the club for receptions, dinners or dances. For reservations or any inquiries, contact the Club Manager at 207-767-0374.
An independent duty Corpsman handles all medical concerns for Group personnel including Active Duty, Reservists. A limited exam room and pharmacy are located at the Group with the majority of medical facilities available through Naval Station Brunswick which is about 30 minutes north of Portland. Dental care is provided locally by Portland Dental Health Care Center. The Medical office can be reached by calling either the office at 207-767-0339 or via our cell phone at 318-2145. The Brunswick Medical Appointment Line is 1-888-NAVYMED. Dental services can be reached by dialing Portland Dental Health Care Center at 207-797-5000.
The Local Housing Office handles referrals from Boothbay Harbor Maine to Portsmouth NH including the CGC Campbell, CGC Reliance and the CGC Tahoma.
