Master
Chief David Rochefort assumed duties as Command Master Chief for the First
Coast Guard District, Boston, MA in June of 2011. His primary responsibility
is to advise Rear
Adm. Daniel A. Neptun,
the Commander of the First Coast Guard District, on issues and initiatives
pertaining to all Coast Guard members and their families within District
One. The First District includes eight states in the Northeast and 2,000
miles of coastline from the U.S.-Canada border to northern New Jersey.
A 1987 graduate of Eisenhower High School in TX, he is an Intelligence
Specialist by trade. He advanced to Chief Petty Officer in 2000, made Master
Chief in 2007 and was assigned his first Command Master Chief assignment in
2009.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as the as the first Command
Master Chief for the Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center in Norfolk, VA.
Master Chief Rochefort’s underway assignments include full tours onboard the
Coast Guard Cutters JARVIS, SHERMAN, ACTIVE, and LEGARE. His shore
assignments include tours at Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Morgan City, LA,
VTS Houston, TX, VTS Valdez, AK, Coast Guard Headquarters (CG-212), and
Coast Guard Atlantic Area Liaison to Navy Joint Forces Maritime Component
Commander (JFMCC) North.
While onboard USCCG LEGARE he served as Command Chief and had the
opportunity to deploy to the Mediterranean as part of the USS ENTERPRISE
Battle Group. Additionally, while assigned to Coast Guard Headquarters,
Master Chief Rochefort had the unique experience of serving as the Coast
Guard’s first Intelligence Specialist (IS) Rating Force Master Chief and
assisted in the formation and establishment of the Coast Guard Intelligence
Specialist rating.
Master Chief Rochefort is a proud graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty
Officers Academy class LXXXIXand the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course class 02-10.
Master Chief Rochefort’s personal awards include two Meritorious Service
Medals, one Coast Guard Commendation Medal with Operational Distinguishing
Device, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, the Coast Guard Permanent
Cutterman’s Pin and numerous personal and service awards.
