Lieutenant Greg Batchelder was raised in Vernon, CT and graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2006 earning a B.S. in Management. His first assignment was Communications Officer and later First Lieutenant, on USCGC DAUNTLESS (WMEC 624) in Galveston, TX where he conducted Alien Migrant Interdiction, Counter Narcotics, and Living Marine Resource patrols. In 2008, LT Batchelder transferred to Mobile, AL to serve as Operations Officer on USCGC CYPRESS (WLB 210), the Gulf of Mexico's only sea-going buoy tender, where he responded to Hurricanes IKE and GUSTAV, multiple tropical storms, and as an on-scene skimming asset during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. LT Batchelder was then selected to attend the Eisenhower Leadership Development Program, a leadership development program conducted through the U.S. Military Academy and Columbia University, and earned his M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University in May 2011. From 2011 to 2014 LT Batchelder was assigned to the Coast Guard Academy serving as Foxtrot's Company Officer, overseeing 120 cadets on a daily basis and during his final year as the Regimental and Senior Company Officer working with Cadet Leadership. In April 2014, LT Batchelder reported to USCGC JUNIPER (WLB 201) as the Executive Officer.
LT Batchelder is married to the former Katri Nattie of Norwich, VT. They have two children, Samantha and Grady.
