Closed: Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.

1.The pharmacy is staffed by a PHS Pharmacist and “C” school trained Pharmacy Technicians. The Pharmacy Department provides pharmaceuticals as well as drug and immunization information to over 6000 beneficiaries and provides direct support to Coast Guard units in it’s Area of Responsibility.
This includes the USCGCs TAHOMA, CAMPBELL, RELIANCE, SENECA, SPENCER, ESCANABA, WILLOW, JUNIPER.
The shore units that are supported include USCG Sector Southeastern New England, Sector Northern New England, Integrated Support Center Boston, Sector Field Office Southwest Harbor, Station Rockland, Port Security Unit 301, Marine Safety and Security Team 91110.

    2. The pharmacy maintains a formulary based on the DoD Basic Core Formulary (BCF) which is updated periodically. Additional items may be added based on the needs and requirements of the clinic medical staff. Copies of the current clinic formulary can be obtained from pharmacy staff.  Please bring a copy of the formulary to discuss with your doctor at any appointment.

3.Medications are provided free of charge.  The best option for chronic medications is the Tricare Mail Order Pharmacy which will provide a 90 days supply of medications at the Copay amounts of $0 (generic), $13 (brand), or $43 (Non-formulary).  Click on the link for enrollment or for more information or call 1-877-363-1433 to enroll.

4.The pharmacy will only fill prescriptions that are on the clinic formulary for all entitled beneficiaries (Tricare for Life, Tricare Prime, Tricare Extra, Tricare Standard). The pharmacy is prohibited from filling prescriptions for beneficiaries enrolled in U.S. Family Health Plan commonly referred to as Brighton-Marine.

5.New prescriptions can only be brought in (hand carried not mailed) and filled when the pharmacist is
on premises and not involved in patient appointments. This may be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, 0800-1100.  The afternoons are reserved for patient appointments.  This does not impact medication refills which can be processed during normal business hours.

6.The standard business hours for the pharmacy are listed above. The clinic and pharmacy is also closed for all Federal holidays and for command functions/closures. For the most current information on closures, please call 508-968-6571.

7.The pharmacy will provide a 30 day supply of medications as applicable and as budgets constraints allow. For controlled substances, no refills are allowed. The one exception which allows a 90 day supply is for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD) and for seizure disorders treated with Phenobarbital where the pharmacy can dispense a 90 day supply at a time.

8.Prescription transfers to retail pharmacies from Kaehler Memorial can only be performed when the Pharmacist is on premises and it can only be done once. This means that if a prescription is transferred out, it cannot be transferred to another pharmacy which may mean a new prescription will be required from your physician.  Kaehler Memorial will not transfer prescriptions in from another pharmacy.

9.All refills must be called in to 508-968-6571 and will be available at 1300 the following business day (available Friday mornings).

(Active Duty, Dependant, Retiree) is required in order to receive these items.
