The Environmental Health and Safety Department exists to support the Operation's Missions and is committed to pollution prevention and is the primary point of contact to federal regulators for reporting spills, the Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure Plan, CO's policy statement (attached), and Environmental Management System.
EH &S is responsible for the oversight of OSHA safety and training, fire safety, hazmat/haz-waste compliance and public safety & security.

Mission
To support the Commander of Air Station Cape Cod in providing a Fire Safe working and living environment. This accomplished by conducting Facility and Housing Fire Inspections and Fire Prevention Training for all USCG assigned to the Air Station.
- Ensure that required Fire Drills are conducted for all USCG Organizations.
- Educate and Train all USCG Personnel, (Active, Reserve, Dependents) on Fire Prevention and Safety.
- Provide a Fire Prevention Briefing for all new occupants of Government Housing.
- Issue Permits for Hot Work: Welding, Outside Grills, Burning, etc.

Security Patrols
Routine patrols occur 24 Hours/7 Days a week throughout the Housing Area & Air
Station Area.
Mission
Protect the health & safety of government employees and Coast Guard Housing residents by looking for and reporting unsafe or potentially hazardous situations to the OOD & JOOD and enforce and administer Air Station Traffic Safety Plan and Access Control.
