In Case of Emergency: Dial 911
The Kaehler Clinic operates an ALS Ambulance that is fully integrated and part of the Cape and Islands Emergency Medical System. Staffed 24x7 by a duty HS and a contract Paramedic, the clinic responds to 911 calls on the Massachusetts Military Reservation. The ambulance also responds to all in-flight aircraft emergencies on base. Patients requiring ambulance emergency service will either be taken to Falmouth Hospital or Cape Cod Hospital. Transportation to other Hospitals is done on a case by case basis.
Dependents and retirees requiring medical care after hours and or weekends must use a TRICARE provider, clinic or hospital.
Active duty shall use care provided at Kaehler Medical Clinic whenever possible.
When emergency medical care is obtained at another clinic or at a hospital the active duty member must notify KMC or TRICARE within 24 hours to arrange for authorization (payment) of the treatment. If possible the member should bring copies of their ER notes/Patient Encounter notes when they follow up in the clinic Active Duty Emergency Room Visit Follow-Up Policy: Active duty personnel that are seen at the local emergency room must follow-up with their Primary Care Manager (your doctor at KMC) as soon as possible. This is to ensure that your doctor at KMC is kept current on your health care needs and can take appropriate action on any recommendations made by the ER physician. For aviation personnel, this follow-up allows the Flight Surgeon to evaluate prescriptions you may have been prescribed that are not compatible with the aviation environment and provide a duty status recommendation to command personnel.
All other routine and same-day medical appointments can be made by calling (508) 968-6582.
